A South Boston man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty in January of 11 charges of possession of child pornography and computer trespass.

Howard F. Wade, 76, of Volens died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was the son of the late Earlie T. Wade, Sr. and Essie Martin Wade. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad and was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and W.O.W. 106 and American Legion Post 342.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Algie W. Wade; a step-son, Randy J. Whitlow and wife Randi; a brother, Earlie T. Wade, Jr. and wife Lorene; a sister, Emily R. Roark and husband Buddy; five grandchildren, a niece and two nephews.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Millstone Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Stanfield and Rev. Ron Rhew officiating. Memorials may be directed to North Halifax Volunteer Fire Department, 4201 Leda-Grove Road, Nathalie, VA 24577.
