James Marshall King

James Marshall King, 61, of Virgilina, died Friday, April 9, 2021. He was born in Roxboro, N.C., on Nov. 3, 1959, son of Dorothy King and the late John Hamlett King Sr. He was married to Mary King and was employed by Global Safety Textiles.

Mr. King is survived by his wife, Mary “Cookie” King of the home; six children, Marshall King Adams (Anthony) of Roxboro, N.C., Leisha King of South Boston, Cindy King of Chesterfield, Caroll Hall (Lavina) of Nathalie, Jermichael Tuck of Halifax and Clifton Davis (Jerrica) of Virgilina; two brothers, John King Jr. of Yanceyville, N.C., and Curtis King of Virgilina; three sisters, Annie Thomas (Sterling) of Springfield, Janet King and Cynthia King (David), all of Virgilina; 12 grandchildren; two aunts, four brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends, including The Old School Car Club.

A funeral will be held Thursday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at TJM Community Center, Cluster Springs, with Rev. Vaxaeadrene Allen, eulogist. Burial will follow at the Kings family cemetery, Virgilina. Following COVID -19 guidelines, a face mask and social distancing will be required.

Public viewing was held Wednesday from noon-6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
