Marshall Henry Rowland

Marshall Henry Rowland, 76, of 4050 Chestnut Road, Nathalie died Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on July 25, 1934, son of the late Jack William Rowland and Martha Terry Rowland and was married to Evelyn Holt Rowland. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Millstone, where he was a past usher and served on the grounds committee. His greatest love was his family, enjoyed working and helping others and was an active fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Jerry Dean Rowland and wife Judy of Nathalie; three daughters, Dianne Rowland Davis and husband Andy, Sandra Rowland Swift and husband Jimmy and Terri Renee Rowland, all of Nathalie; six grandchildren, Andy Davis III, Jennifer Rowland Clark, Matthew Thomas Davis, Marcus Aaron Swift, Hunter Austin Swift, Heather Anne Davis and three great-grandchildren; beloved aunt, Ava Terry Martin. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Rowland Powell and two brothers, Jack William Rowland Jr. and Gordon B. Rowland.

A funeral was held Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Millstone with Pastor Rob Blake officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
