Phillip Anthony ‘Pootsie’ Martin / April 18, 2011
Phillip Anthony “Pootsie” Martin of 1007 Goldmine Trail, Scottsburg died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at his home. Born in Halifax County on June 13, 1980, he was 30 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of James Wesley Martin Jr. and Phyllis Carolyn Powell Martin and was married to Kimberly Erika Colwell Martin. He attended Fork Baptist Church.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of the home, a daughter, Hannah Fe Martin and a son, Dylan Scott Martin, both of the home and his parents, also of Scottsburg.

A funeral for Mr. Martin was held Sunday, April 17, at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Rathel officiating. Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.

The family received friends at the home on Saturday and at the home of his parents at 2034 Allen Trail, Scottsburg.
