Roscoe Bruce “Butch” Scott, age 75, of Chase City, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was born on Feb. 5, 1946 in Halifax County and was the son of the late William “Bill” Scott and the late Pauline Wade Tate. 

He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Chase City and a former automotive parts salesman for NAPA. 

Butch is survived by his wife, Ruby Jane Lenhart Scott; two sons, Jimmy Scott and Stephen Scott; granddaughter, Shelby Nicole; great-granddaughter, Vada Noelle; brothers, William Scott Jr. (Judy) and Marvin Tate; sisters, Patricia Brown and Susie Vilbig; devoted sister-in-law, Rita Wells; close friend, Timmy Coleman; and his beloved dog, Rainey. 

A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m., at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jim Fry officiating.
