William Thomas Hendren of 621 Berry Hill Road, South Boston died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. Born June 28, 1933 in Halifax County, he was 77 at the time of his death. He was a former retired auto body worker with Ford Motor Company and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Boston, Mass.

Mr. Hendren is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Benner of Friendship, Maine and Christine Starrett of Warren, Maine, five sisters, Nelli Poindexter, Odell Davis, Janice Weathers and Dorothy Miller, all of Boston, Mass. and Bailey Jennings of Volens and a brother Theodore Hendren of Boston, Mass., two grandchildren, Jennice Nattress and Nichols Starrett and a great grandchild, Warren Nattress.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Tyre and Lucille Borbour Hendren and a sister, Corine Dorsey.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
